We've Raised $4.2M to Build the Context Layer for AI-Native CPG Brands
What this means for the brands we work with, and the ones we haven't met yet.
May 5, 2026 / London / San Francisco

We're thrilled to announce that Corvera has raised $4.2M in Seed funding, led by 6 Degrees Capital, with participation from 20VC, Rebel Fund, Duke Capital Partners, Multimodal Ventures, Y Combinator, and a group of exceptional angels and operators, including Jake Heller (Casetext), Christian Mathiesen (Frigade), and Dom Maskell (Runna)!
The funding round closes a chapter that began earlier this year when we joined Y Combinator's W26 batch and opens up a much bigger one - one that will change how CPG brands are run.
This article isn't really about the round. It's about what we're going to do with it, and why it matters if you're running operations at a CPG brand right now.
The problem we keep seeing
Consumer brands have never had more software.
Most established and scaling CPG brands are running on a tech stack that looks impressive on paper: an ERP, a 3PL portal, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, a forecasting tool, a BI dashboard, and maybe Snowflake in the background. The systems are fine. They are not the problem.
The problem is the human middleware between them.
Someone on your ops team is copying purchase orders from email into your ERP. Someone in demand planning manually updates the same forecast in Excel every Monday because the required data is siloed across five different warehouses. Someone in finance is reconciling Amazon settlement reports line by line. None of that work is strategic. All of it takes a huge amount of time and resources away from work that actually moves the needle.
When we talk to operators, the number we hear most often is twenty. Twenty hours a week, per person, on workflows that exist only because systems don't talk to each other cleanly. Multiply that across a team and you can clearly see the problems brands run into the moment they try to scale revenue. The data exists - it's just siloed, inconsistent, and invisible to the AI tools that could actually put it to work.
What we're building
Corvera is the context layer for AI-native CPG brands. We don't ask you to rip and replace anything. We connect to the tools you already use, unify the data trapped across them, and make it legible to any AI tool through MCP - the open standard that lets AI securely read and act on your data.
Once your data is legible, anyone in your organization can put AI to work, with no data engineers or AI specialists required:
Deploy AI agents. Spin up agents in tools like Claude and ChatGPT that parse inbound POs, rebuild forecasts against live sell-through, or reconcile settlements end-to-end.
Build internal apps and dashboards. Use tools like Cursor and Lovable to stand up the reports and tools your team needs in minutes, all in plain language.
Automate workflows across the business. From category management to supply chain to finance, connect your systems once and let AI handle the work that used to eat your team's week.
It all runs in a secure, access-controlled, fully audit-logged environment, and it's plug-and-play. Corvera connects to NetSuite, Cin7, Unleashed, Shopify, Amazon, Snowflake, Celigo, Tableau, and the rest of the stack you're probably already using. If you're on something we don't yet support, tell us. We're adding integrations every week.
What changes for brands using Corvera
Within five weeks of closing our first customer, we'd signed more than a dozen brands. That pace tells us two things. The problem is more acute than even we realized when we started. And the appetite for a solution that doesn't require a six-month implementation is enormous.
The brands working with us today are seeing three things change quickly:
Order-to-cash cycles compress because nothing sits in an inbox waiting for someone to get to it. Forecast accuracy improves because models are rebuilt using live data rather than last quarter's assumptions. And the operations and category teams get their time back, which they reinvest into work that actually grows the business: new channel launches, retailer relationships, product development, and more.
Simply put, we help brands scale revenue without scaling headcount.
Why now
CPG brands are being asked to do more with less, and the demands on performance are only increasing.
It has never been easier to launch a brand so competition is stiffer than ever. At the same time, retailers are demanding tighter compliance, faster ASNs, and chargebacks for getting any of it wrong. Marketplaces change their rules quarterly. Distribution has fragmented across DTC, Amazon, grocery, convenience, and international, each with its own portal, its own data format, and its own expectations. Last but certainly not least, margins are under constant pressure from rising input costs, freight, and trade spend.
Most brands have responded the only way they could - they hired. Another ops coordinator. Another demand planner. Another finance analyst to rebuild the same reports every month. It works until it doesn't. At some point, the team you've built to hold the ship together becomes the reason you can't move quickly on the things that actually grow the business.
The brands we talk to know this. They can feel it. What they haven't had, until recently, is a credible alternative to throwing more people at the problem.
That's what's changed. AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Lovable are finally powerful enough to take on real operational work, and MCP gives them a secure, standard way to plug into your systems. What's been missing is the context layer: something that unifies a brand's messy, siloed data and makes it legible to those tools, with the domain knowledge to get CPG's edge cases right.
That's the work we're doing. And the brands adopting it now are going to compound an advantage so big that those who wait another two years won't be able to catch up.
Where the funding goes
We're investing in just two places:
Customer Support. We're hiring more engineers, so every brand we onboard can directly access an extremely talented engineer within 24 hours. No more waiting in a ticket queue and never being seen to.
Product. Deeper integrations, more pre-built agents and templates, and better self-serve tooling so operators can build agents, apps, and automations themselves without engineering support.
A note on the team
I, Christopher Kong, co-founded and ran Better Nature for seven years before starting Corvera, scaling it to roughly 5,000 retail doors across the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, the UAE, and Australia, establishing it as Europe's leading tempeh brand. I've sat in the seat our customers sit in. I know what it feels like to lose a Friday afternoon to a settlement reconciliation that should have taken twenty minutes.
My founding team brings the technical depth to actually solve it.
Dirk Breeuwer (CTO & Co-Founder) led Data and AI Transformation at Google for the Google Pixel. He built AI-driven automations that reduced the Pixel's operating costs by 20%. Matthew Collins (CPO & Co-Founder) was Head of Product at Rosemark, the successor to Rosetta which was acquired by Publicis for $575M. There, he built AI scenario-modeling tools for health insurance firms and Fortune 500 Banks. And Berk Güngör (Founding Engineer) spent 6 years building AI and Machine Learning products prior to joining us at Corvera and leads our AI engineering efforts. The team we're building around them is being hired against the same bar.

If you'd like to join us
We'd love to talk too. Please apply via this link and we'll be in touch if you're the right fit for what we're looking for.
Our mission is bold: to enable the next generation of unicorn CPG brands to be run by teams of fewer than ten people. Our vision is bolder still: to become the system of intelligence for the $5.4T global CPG industry.
To our investors, advisors, and customers who took a chance on us when we were still figuring out what this company was - thank you. The hard part starts now and we cannot be more excited about the challenge ahead.
As always, we're just getting started!
